Maxine was born and raised in Concord, Ontario. She has always had a passion for fashion and art. Her early work took the form of elegant fashion drawings and shadowy portraits. Many of the figures were created on black film board meticulously etched out with an Exacto knife. Maxine honed her skills as a portrait artist at Ontario Place and Canada's Wonderland over many summers. Maxine's formal training included fashion design at Ryerson University, Fine Arts at the Ontario College of Art, and Graphic Design at George Brown College.

After years of focusing on human forms and portraits, Maxine has recently expanded her scope to create a series of stunning heritage home scratchboard drawings inspired by her years of walking Toronto streets. Her work has been displayed at various exhibitions and galleries throughout Ontario, including the McMichael Art Gallery, The O'Keefe Centre, Toronto Outdoor Exhibition, Hummingbird Centre, and the annual Thornhill Visual Artists Studio Tour.
